Are the patterns for the NEW Lace Sampler Kits available without the kit? I like to use my own choice for yarn and colors....

I'm looking for a pattern for a felted bag that could be used as a diaper bag. I've search Ravelry, but haven't seen anything as yet. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Susan,

I found this one (Rav link) from Knitting For Baby by Melanie Falick and Kristin Nicholas.

There's one in Itty Bitty Nursery too - the Fruit Loops Bag (Rav link)

Those are the two I found, which I find strange since it seems like a natural project for felted bags!

Hope this helps!

I found this one last night when searching on the Knitting Pattern Central. I thing it is the one I will use. What do you think?

I'm like you I would have thought this was a natural project for felted bags... but maybe we don't think like everyone else.

It think that would be great! (and free!) :) I like that it has extra pockets on the sides, I don't think the other two have them.

Good Luck! What colors were you going to use?

My daughter in law loves beiges and browns. I know that doesn't sound very good for babies, but one of the felted baby totes I found (that I thought was way too small) had beige, brown, dark green and red.

I did some baby bibs/clothes for a friend in Simply Cotton Toffee, a French vanilla cotton yarn I had on hand and some Comfy in Pomegranate. And they turned out lovely. I mentioned this to the DIL today, and she seemed excited about it. Shown here.

She is coming to visit soon (they live only 35 miles away) to discuss some of my ideas on colors and to get her general approval. We don't know the sex of the baby yet, but I can still get started on some of the larger items like the diaper bag and a big blanket.

A member of my knitting group just finished a fringe purse that is so cute! She said she got the free pattern on Knit Picks website. It must have been removed as I cannot find it. Checked on Rav also. Would make a darling bag for my granddaughter's start in junior high school! Any way I could still get this pattern?

Hi,

If you have the name of the pattern or give me a little more information about the pattern I may be able to find it for you.

Sincerely,

"Fringe Purse" is what it's called. It is approx. 6" by 10" and can carry a soft covered book. The fringe is added to the bottom of the flap- over and it has a long i cord strap. She used a fairly firm Knit Picks yarn. I asked her if she would share the pattern since it was no longer on your website's free patterns. She seemed uncomfortable doing this. That's why I am asking. I will ask her for more details when I see her next Thursday. Until then I thought I would ask Knit Picks directly!

Thank you for being willing to help!!

Hi kwaldo,

I'm sorry it isn't one that is available through us - I did find the desinger's name - Joy Geib Doss - but no information on where it can now be purchased.

I'm sorry we weren't much help!
