Hmm. Halloween sock patterns. You could try making witchy knee socks with our Wicked Witch colorway of Imagination or stripes of Essential Granny Smith with African Violet or Pumpkin with Black.
And on the topic of Halloween, Vickie Howell's New Knits on the Block book has extremely cute knitted costume patterns for children.
I was wondering if any of ya'll that are cross crafters (knit & crochet), have ever seen the pattern for the Holly Afghan in the McCall's Handcrafts Afghans, vol. III. The magazine has the picture not the pattern and since the issue was from 1973 the pattern is a little hard to find (understatement). I took a picture of the afghan in the magazine to jog the memory. Hope you can help.
I remember when I first got my first KnitPicks catalogs I used to love the holiday or seasonal type sweaters/vests. I was not ready to tackle anything like that at the time but now cannot find them... so would love to see things like that both for kids and adults. I remember there was a Halloween one and a fall one
Anyway, these are older patterns, and Knit Picks doesn't have the rights to distribute them anymore, but here is a link to the author's blog: http://kathleen-dakotadreams.blogspot.com/
You could try contacting her and see if they are still for sale.
You can see all of our other Kathleen Taylor patterns here:

(I love her Palette Fair Isle Cardigan)
Also, we interviewed her in Knit Picks Podcast episode #43: http://community.knitpicks.com/profiles/blog/show?id=1984936%3ABlog...
I am looking for patterns for basic cardigans and pullover sweaters that use bulky wt yarn. Nothing fancy, but good for hard-working everyday garments. Any suggestions? When I look at all the projects listed on Ravelry, most using bulky wt are hats and bags. Please, help.

How about the Thick Knit Car Coat or the Man's Cabled Pullover? They have just enough detail to keep the knitting interesting, and both really show off our solid color bulky yarns.
I LOVE top down patterns and would really like to see more of them on the Knit Picks site. Does anyone plan on creating more sweaters in the top down method? Does anyone know of a good book with top down sweaters...I already have the one on the Knit Pick site. Thanks!!
